VinFast managed the unexpected.

VinFast debuted at this year's Paris Motor Show with two new luxury SUV and limousine models fitted with two-litre engines from BMW. They also revealed their plans for several years. Although VinFast will enter the market next year, it is estimated that in 2025, the first Vietnamese automaker will produce up to half a million cars.

Interests from the world of VinFast

These two luxury models are labelled LUX A2.0 – sedan and LUX SA2.0 – SUV. VinFast ordered the designs from Italdesign Giugiaro , Pininfarina , Torino Design and Zagato , and then the citizens of Vietnam voted for their favourite. Finally, behind the overall design are the companies of Italdesign and Pininfarina which has added unmistakable charm to these cars. This paid off a lot.

The luxury sedan mimics the long hood and short rear deck of the Alfa Romeo Giulia, while the SUV carries designer tracks similar to the new Mazda. The interiors are carried in a minimalist spirit and the dashboard is dominated by a modern large display.

What is under the hood of these two luxury beauties?

Under the hood of each model is the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces either 174 horsepower (130 kW) and 300 Nm of torque, or 227 horsepower (170 kW) and 350 Nm of torque. Sedan customers can choose between these two performances, while the SUV will only have the higher performance engine. The eight-speed automatic transmission ZF transmits power from the engine to the rear wheels, both for the sedan and the SUV.

VinFast should be ready to accept orders for the first luxury cars in early 2019. We can’t wait, can you?
