After Louis Vuitton, Dior also presents a stunning menswear collection. It combined the present, the past and haute couture. When creating it, the brand's creative director Kim Jones dipped into archives and the iconography of the luxury brand that is Dior, to celebrate the timeless elegance of the brand. How did that work out for him? Take a look for yourself!

Extravagance & harmony

The outfits are characterized by tight fits and bold details which symbolize Christian Dior's love for architecture. The Fall 2020 collection includes berets, embroidery, paisley patterns, arabesque motifs or beadwork. Disregarding the questionable silk gloves (we'll talk about those later), we can say that everything in the Fall 2020 collection is designed in a balance that does not hurt masculinity too much.

Inspired by Judy Blame

The inspiration by the iconic British designer and stylist Judy Blame, who is a key figure and a symbol of creativity in the luxury fashion business, is also quite clear. It can be seen in the jewelry that appeared in the fashion show and was designed by Yoon Ahn.

Gloves for an opera diva

What we consider quite a misstep are the long evening gloves, which, let's not kid ourselves, do not belong on men's hands! It could easily happen in your relationships that you won't be getting your coat taken off by your man, but will be taking off his...

Dior is making men look like women, but it's pleasing!

I have to say that at first glance at the new menswear collection by Dior I wasn't overly offended, but upon closer inspection, I do see a few obscurities. But on the other hand, I tell myself - if only my man put on something that nice from time to time. But he's seriously heterosexual, the kind who thinks that a guy should stink even in a photo, so he probably wouldn't be willing to wear any of this...

However, I'd definitely like to see my guy in one of those wool white sweaters, or even the berets I find sexy on men.

Leave the silk gloves to women

Critics say that the collection is balanced, but I can't agree. Looking at some of the pictures I see a well dressed lady, whereupon I notice that it's actually a boy. The craziest thing to me are those long gloves, like those I see on elegant ladies in luxurious evening gowns at balls. I find it weird on men in the city. Yes to normal gloves to keep away the cold, but this? No! You already have your manpurses, do you want to start breastfeeding next? Just leave the silk gloves to women.

Hamster in a Nightshirt

When oversized shirts came back into fashion, white and for women, that is, I was elated. Even though they don't look good on everyone's figure, they were worn a lot by pretty much all women. Those with tummies in order to hide their fat rolls, the skinny ones to hide their lack of breasts. Why are men wearing them now? All I see is Kája Berka from the series Hamster in a Nightshirts, and I really don't find it sexy at all.

A flower in place of a brooch

I don't think that bold motifs on coats or anywhere else would make a man or the upper part of his outfit look particularly good. On the contrary, I feel like there's something wrong with the coat. Like he's covering up a hole or dirt or something. Simplicity is beautiful, why ruin a nice thing like this? On top of that, a scarf is supposed to be worn around the neck, not on a lapel.

Nevertheless, in spite of all these details, I do like the collection. The materials and cuts aren't really offensive, they look luxurious, clean and expensive. Dapper gentlemen indeed.
