The SS19 men's collection was presented by Riccardo Tisci in London along with the women´s line. And while for women he created over 80 luxury outfits, men had to contend with "only" fifty. However, the less models for men the designer made, the more he creativity he poured into them. We would like to introduce to you the collection for stormy rebels as well as elegantly graceful dandies, Kingsman style!
From the point of view of Riccardo Tisci it essentially does not matter which path will you choose for the next season of Spring/Summer; both will be trendy. Remember action movies Kingsman? Then you too, will no doubt recall them when looking at the luxurious stylish jackets in combination with an umbrella. It is the umbrella, which became an inseparable part of the main character, Harry, played by charismatic Colin Firth. Riccardo Tisci decided to bring this model to the next level and quite unexpectedly attached chains to the umbrella. Transformation of a sleek dandy into an unbridled maverick? Why not?
Where there is no chain, the designer applied cut-throughs, animal patterns, quirky vinyl material, oversize pieces, vibrant colours, patchwork method or provocative inscriptions. One of the shirts is for example embellished by an inscription "Why did they kill Bambi," others made the impression that the designer put them together the night before the fashion show. Yes, that´s because of the patchwork.
The patchwork method lies in stitching together differently-coloured pieces of fabrics, and that´s the reason why some models from the luxury SS19 collection look random or disorganised. We much more prefer the elegant line, which we recommend you to stuff your wardrobe with as much as you can!
Riccardo Tisci has of course also presented men's part of the Burberry SS19 collection. Me, unlike the women's section it didn´t enthuse me all that much. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I am not really much of a fan of all sorts of tracksuits with leopard-print motifs. But don´t worry, it is not quite such a horror, as it may seem at first glance.
Fortunately, an absolutely stunning variety of men's suits has also been presented, which would certainly have looked good on the new James Bond! I liked the most the dark blue one with an absolutely timeless double-breasted jacket, striped shirt and a tie. In addition, those shoes are a perfect colour match to the suit; one does not see that very often. The perfect thing for the big boss! And the chain with the lock? Truthfully: wouldn´t any woman wish her man to be referred to in that way?
And at the very end, I must also mention the classic cream-coloured trench coat which Riccardo enriched by a smaller buttoning on the inside of the coat. It is not only interesting but also very practical. Perhaps everyone knows the feeling that when walking, the coat is slowly slipping off the shoulders and needs to be constantly pulled back to the right place. This irritating issue is (at least for men) OVER!
