From a ballerina to a model

A native of Paris, she was born on September 28, 1934 into a well-off family. She attended a ballet conservatory from childhood and wanted to become a professional ballerina. But fate had other plans for her. Brigitte grew a few inches taller than what was appropriate for the small ballerinas at the time. Therefore, her mother helped her break into the world of modeling.

How it all began

At the age of 15, Brigitte modeled and did photoshoots for major magazines. A young assistant director, Roger Vadim, helped her get into the movie industry, and became her husband the same year. However, this marriage lasted only five years. After all, when it comes to weddings, the beautiful blonde didn't concern herself too much with them, and divorces were not unusual for her.

At last, the one

Two years after her divorce from Roger Vadim, she married for the second time, this time the actor Jacques Charrier, with whom she has her only biological child - her son Nicolas. She subsequently married German millionaire Gunther Sachs, but did not find happiness in life by his side either. Since 1992, her fourth and last husband has been French politician Bernard d'Ormale.

Evening movies with "Bardotka"

Shortly after being discovered by Roger Vadim, Brigitte started a successful film career. Her filmography includes fifty films and several documentaries. Among the most famous of these are And God Created Woman, La Parisienne, Testament of Orpheus, Love Is My Profession, The Truth, A Very Private Affair or Contempt. She starred alongside big names such as Kirk Douglas, Jean Gabin, Sean Connery, J. Paul Belmondo or Louis de Funès.

Passionate animal rights activist

Brigitte Bardot decided to end her film career at the age of 39. She has dedicated the rest of her life to the fight for the rights of animals, which she has always loved and in which she is still engaged today.

Living with limitations and a common vice

Today, Brigitte Bardot is a mature lady that, like many of her peers, cannot avoid various health ailments. The actress uses the support of crutches, for example, when walking. But she still enjoys life to the fullest, and when it comes down to it, she doesn't even deny herself her favorite vice - a cigarette. Brigitte also cares about her appearance and you simply won't see her outside without makeup or styled hair.
