Braník Brewery

A fortified hill for defense known as Braník

The colourful history of Braník dates back to the 11th century, when we read about Branice in historical sources. This place evolved, grew, and changed its area until it became the city quarter of Prague 4 in 1990. History is also embedded in the buildings that are the jewels of this municipal territory. They invite one to see them, so everyone should surely visit this place.

The beauty of Braník's history

One of the oldest sights is certainly the four-wing baroque building with a courtyard dating back to the 3rd quarter of the 17th century. This Dominican Court was in a poor condition until recently. Since 2014 it has been rented by the Zemský brewery, which performed a costly reconstruction. Now it runs a period pub here. The single nave neo-Romanesque church with an apse and tower on a square ground plan is also worth mentioning. It is the church of St. Prokop, standing in the shade of tall trees. Remarkable utility buildings include Branický ice factory, the former water treatment plant – Waterworks, and the unforgettable Branický brewery.

The present-day luxury of Braník

It has a slightly different appearance. Braník is beautiful with its dense communication network, traffic is good and the accessibility of this site is more than satisfactory. In addition to historic buildings, you will find the residential neighborhoods for more than inviting for family life. Calm, wooded areas, first class architecture offering new luxury residential apartments as well.

Braník as a pleasant village of the big city and luxurious beer

Because the soul of this part of town are its pubs and taverns. Places where human lives have always met and drank joyfully. The Branický brewery is proof of this. The luxurious Neo-Renaissance building from 1898 with early Art Nouveau elements and coats of arms designed by Mikoláš Aleš. But we have to disappoint you, since 2006 beer is unfortunately no longer brewed here.

Braník as the Czech Hollywood?

There is a high concentration of stars that chose this luxury location as their place to live. Jan Svěrák, Tomáš Vorel, Ondřej Trojan, Tomáš Jančařík, and David Vávra live here.
