Luxury winter Kitzbühel

Kitzbühel has the reputation of being one of the most luxurious resorts in Austria. The ubiquitous boutiques and luxury restaurants in the cobbled streets of the medieval town where you can take a sleigh ride are not however the only place to spend your days off.

Slopes, cross-country trails and snowboarding

The most expensive cable car in the world was built here a few years ago – the 3S which links the ski resorts of Hahnenkamm, Pengelstein and Jochberg and Resterhöhe. You will find here 120 km of cross-country skiing trails and great conditions for snowboarding in the two local snow parks, ranking among the very best in the Alps.

This Austrian region plays host to two sporting events in January.

Polo in the snow

From 12 until 15 January, the largest international snow polo tournament in the world will be held in Reith near Kitzbühel. This competition stands out due to the riding arts of the competitors and the luxury overall atmosphere of this unique sport. As is the tradition, this even will be accompanied by a varied programme in Kitzbühel.

Hahnenkamm Rennen downhill races

From 20 until 22 January 2017, this location will, as is now the tradition, play host to races in the Alpine Ski World Cup with the men’s Hahnenkamm Rennen. Top international skiers will be racing here, participating in this most important of skiing and social events. They will be negotiating the now legendary downhill run on one of the most difficult and remarkable courses in the world: Streif.

Luxury accommodation: Weiss Spa

The Weiss spa chalet is a stone’s throw from the centre and 500 metres from the main drag lift which a driver will happily take you to on request. Over its 5 luxurious floors, Weiss spa offers accommodation for 14 people. It offers its visitors lots of space to relax and a 15-metre swimming pool. The chalet combines a traditional Austrian design with modern elements in such a way as to guarantee a pleasant atmosphere in luxurious Alpine style.

After a whole day’s skiing, Kitzbühel offers a lot of fun. You will find here an indoor swimming pool with a water slide in the Aquarena centre or you can play a game of curling. The town has many wine bars and luxury restaurants and if you have had enough of skiing, you can even take a flight in a luxury balloon.
