The music group Lucie, the singer Barbora Poláková, and even the newcomers to the musical scene The Atavists received two awards at the 28th annual music awards Anděl. The musician Michal Prokop entered the hall of fame.
The first one to step up to receive her award was the solo artist Barbora Poláková, who released the album ZE.MĚ.
She also received a directing award for the music video for the song 2-8-5-, which had its premiere live stream on her Instragram. A lot went on in it, and it was filmed in a single take.
The song of the year is Nejlepší, kterou znám written by Oskar Petr and Robert Kodym, and recorded by the band Lucie. The band didn’t appear at the ceremony, their manager and Oskar Petr expressed thanks in their stead. They also received the prestigious award Album of the year with their comeback album Evolucie. Interestingly, the band members first received an Anděl award at the first year of the award ceremony Anděl for their album In The Sky, and they were hailed the best band of the last twenty, even twenty-five years.
The band to win an award in the folk category was Žamboši for their album Louvre.
Miro Žbirka won the solo artist of the year with his Double Album. ‚I’m in shock. I really didn’t expect this, and especially in this way. I have to thank everyone, who recorded the Double Album with me, added Žbirka.
Monkey business won the band of the year award with their album Bad Time For Gentlemen. The band The Atavists won the discovery of the year award, and also received an award in the Rock category.
